FOOD PORN - 33 - Beef Goulash Pasta

PASTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Ok, I have wanted to make something like beef sauce pasta for a while now. It was just yesterday that I actually have an urge to do it. Why? Because it consume so much time in cooking and also so much spice goes into it. Without those spices, this beef sauce pasta will not be good at all. Really.

So what I created yesterday was a type of Beef stew call,

Beef Goulash Pasta ビーフグーラッシュパスタ

I do not have all the spice required to make it, so this is just what I actually used.
Fresh pasta
Vegetable Oil
Beef block that is already cut, you buy it and cut yourselves
Onions 2 ea
Olive oil
Salt
Bay Leaf (just 1 is enough
Stock! You can use Beef or Chicken Stock for this one. I used a beef stock cube 2ea for it
Tomato paste
Garlic
Sugar
Balsamic vinegar
*Main Spice*
Caraway seeds, you can ground it
Paprika powder (I used smoked Paprika powder)
Black pepper
Cayenne
Dried thyme leaves

Looks like a lot.. right??? The process of this thing is rather easy but the preparation is painful. That is why I do not do it until now. I decided to just.. shop for once!






Start with preparing garlic and onions, chop them out. Then prepare your meat. My meat is already cut and spice, so meh.  If your meat is not spice, add in some salt and black pepper before cooking.



Set up your pan with normal oil. Then cook the beef first, make sure that it is cooked. (it will taste better when you put in the stock).



After finishing it, put the beef in the pot, normal cooking pot is fine.

Here is the thing about this dish, do not wash the pan, ever. We will be using the same pan, over and over again because the smell of the meat and everything is in it.

Cook the onions and add in olive oil in the same pan until it looks almost cooked (the mid is still white but surrounding looks a bit brown or transparent) The color should be brown from the beef previously.



Put those onions in the same pot with the beef. Do not worry about the oils, just dump them in.

Lastly! In the same pan, toast these spice on it, careful of the heat though. Do not make it too cooked or burn it.

Caraway seeds, ground it
Paprika powder
Black pepper
Cayenne
Dried thyme leaves

Mix them all in the pan until it looks pretty good, or smell good.


Then add in the beef stock to the spice, this way, all the beef, onions, and spices will mix together. The color will appear a bit red from paprika powder, that is a right one.


Add the stock into the beef pot then start the heat. You are now done with the pan.

Next, in the pot, add in tomato paste/sauce (I do not have paste, so I used sauce), garlic, Bay Leaf, Salt and the rest of the stock if you still have some left.
Start heating the pot with strong heat until the stock is start boiling. Then lower it down to low heat. Wait for around 1.5 hours to 2 hours.


Check it time to time for the soup. The complete version should have some soup left in it. If the water got too low, it will burn your pot, be careful (I almost burnt my pot) Add in some water if needed.


Lastly! Just prepare the pasta! I use fresh pasta (生パスタ) because.. I LIKE IT!!!!

After the pasta, put in the sauce on top




DONE!

Took me forever to do this but the result is unbelievably delicious. You will know how great it is when you can smell the pot from far far far away.

Tokyo Game Show 2014 Day 2

Tokyo Game Show 2014/9/21

I went there in the early afternoon for just one purpose, to visit Square Enix booth. The other booths were just extras.

So, I will just let the picture speaks. These were some of the photos I took that day. Do not expect much because I did not actually run around hall to hall. Too many people and it was quite tiring. (I do not even have place to walk much. Most of the time I was just flowing along the current)

I was very glad that I do not have any lines to wait to go I at all.

Overall experience of the Square Enix booth was just as crowded as it usually is. Many people have to wait in line for far more than 1 hours to play a demo of the game. 

I was actually aiming to play Final Fantasy 14, but ... there was this ticket system that you have to come early to get it, so you are able to play and get prize for it. Sadly speaking, that ticket was out since the open of the show in as fast as 15 mins. (considering 2 hours of waiting in line to go in and about 10 mins walk from the gate to the Square Enix area) These guys must have been camping outside the gate and ran to the booth as soon as they could. Yea, it was lame.

Tokyo Game Show 2014

If you have been thinking why I do not update anything new lately, here is your answer.

I have been busy with works for these past few weeks in which I do believe that it will be even worse in the near future. There were also many of my friends from the past flew over to Japan for a visit. Having friends around the world is fun when we need to catch up some lost period of time, like 10 years.

Then here it is, Tokyo Game Show 2014. Saturday and Sunday 9/20-21/2014. I will be checking out many booth that I am actually interested in. Well, mostly Square Enix booth... There are way too many things and too little money to do anything... really.

I want more time.. TIMEEEEEEEE

I believe that they take the picture of TKG this year from Racing Miku 2014.... check it out...




Health Checkup 健康診断

今日は健康診断を受けました。
びっくりしました! 最初は普通にクリニックみたいなところですると思ったが大違いでした。一つの病院見たいで(12回ぐらいのオフィスの中に2回ほどの病院が入っています)年を分けて、30歳以下の人は詳しく検査しませんが30歳以上の方はたくさん検査を受けます。
その分け方はズボンを着変えるか、そのままで使うのかです。

一つの個所はだいたい4-5ロットがあって、スピードが速いです。今日私は受けた時にたぶん80名ぐらいいました。意外と速かったです。(1時間ほど)

Went to check my health as the yearly regular check-up today. The check-up took place at one hospital 30 mins by train from my office. This hospital located within the big office building and it seems to take around 2-3 floors of the building.
The company reserve time for me, so I do not actually have to do anything but just sign some papers for them. At the place, they separate the check-up procedure by age. Person under 30 will only take parts of the check-up and over age 30 will be taking full check up (I do think they will check hearts, diabetes and other diseases). People who are under 30, they do not to change their pants, so it was quite easy to see who is younger than 30 and older than 30… I was quite surprise by the face of people.. some looks incredibly too young or too old to fit with their age.

The system of this hospital, well, I would say that it is not completely hospital. It looks more like a place that specially created for body check-up only. Procedure is like robot walking around. They call your name, you hand in the file, then you wait for they to call your name and finished with the check-up. You have to move around place to place for different check-up. Most check-up points have around 4-5 check-up spots so the speed was rather fast. I do not have to wait that long at all.

From this check-up I do respect the system that they specially create for this. I was the only one from my company that had the check-up thus I did not really bumped into someone I know. However, I do see that some other people do come with their own company’s co-workers.

FOOD PORN - 32 - Gang Som, Sour Vegetable Soup

It is almost like I cook once a week! No! It is because I am actually running out of cash to stay alive... SO ! I made this Veggies Soup and it will stick with my for a while! At least should be alive for around 3 days or 6 meals at least.


GANG SOM or SOUR VEGETABLE SOUP (ゲーンソム、タイの酸っぱ辛い野菜スープ)

Ingredients;
Gangsom Paste
Onion,
Cabbages
(or other veggies that you want to put in)
3-4 lemon
Shrimp or Fish (I used both)
Fish sauce.

First of all, after prepare the ingredients, boil the shrimp or fish, half of the set first.






After it cooked, mix them up with the Gangsom Paste.



Then boil the water on another pot, when the water looks boil enough, put mix the paste in the water and then throw in the rest of the ingredients



The taste right now will be very spicy. The original taste of this soup suppose to be a little sweets, sour, and not that spicy, so, add in the lemon, keep adding it little by little. Do not rush. Shrimp sauce and sugar until the taste is good for you.



DONE!!!!



This soup is good with fried eggs or rice.

FOOD PORN - 31 - Thai Yellow Curry

イエローカレーを作りました!鶏肉です。 鶏肉の料理を作るのは頼まれました。 今日は鶏肉のイエローカレーです! 

So! 

Thai Yellow Curry!!!! 

First time doing it and I also forgot to buy onions.... Taste actually came out a lot better than before though! 


Ingredients;

Chicken
Yellow Curry pasted
potato
carrot 
(optional onions)
a bit of garlic
Coconut milk
Fish sauce, pepper and sugar

These should be easily find in Kaldi store.. 


SO!





After cutting everything,

Put in oil and cook the paste until it smells good. 
Then, add the coconut milk and cook it together. 


Then! add in the rest of the meats and veggies. 



Watch the pot until it looks nice, do not worry that the pot looks bad, coconut milk will not look that good until it gets cooked enough. 




next, add in fish sauce and sugar and pepper for the taste. Lastly just wait until the potato and carrots are soft enough. 






DONE!!!!

Best with rice as well!
